Description of Role:
Day-to-day leader of the Cyber Remediation Squad. Owns the remediation backlog, drives technical triage, and ensures the squad delivers measurable risk reduction across the platform estate. Acts as the primary point of coordination between the squad, Engineering Leads, and enterprise functions (InfoSec, SOC, Access Control).
Key Responsibilities:
• Own and prioritise the squad remediation backlog.
• Lead technical triage of vulnerability findings with Engineering Leads.
• Decide which findings require squad support versus platform team self-remediation.
• Ensure fixes are reusable and shared across teams where possible.
• Review remediation plans for quality and completeness.
• Coordinate with InfoSec, SOC, Access Control and Enterprise Engineering.
• Escalate blockers and risk to the Head of Engineering.
• Prevent the squad from becoming a dumping ground for all security work.
Required Skills:
• Senior engineer or architect background with strong delivery track record.
• Solid understanding of application security, cloud security, and secure SDLC.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical workstreams.
• Ability to challenge both engineering teams and InfoSec findings constructively.
• Strong communication skills — able to report to board level.
• Financial services or regulated industry experience desirable.
