We are recruiting for a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Salesperson to increase sales of Cloud Accounting solutions sales in the SMB market.
Our client is a well-established UK company with over 40 years in the industry. They are recognized as one of the leading resellers of business software and network services in the UK, providing flexible technology-based services to their SME customers. Their offerings include Cloud Solutions, Business Software, Cybersecurity, Software Development, and Telecommunications.
The company has received awards for exceptional customer service and boasts strong financial performance. Additionally, they maintain excellent staff and customer retention rates, with very low attrition.
The successful candidate must be able to work independently in a demanding and dynamic environment while also being comfortable collaborating with colleagues. Given the nature of the sales process, candidates should possess strong relationship-building skills, technical aptitude, a proven track record of meeting sales quotas, and a demonstrated ability to close deals.
This role reports to the Commercial Director and is a hybrid position, requiring at least one day a week in the Bedfordshire office.
The Role:
This position is centered around generating new business for our client by leveraging their connections, as well as the successful candidate's own networking efforts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for selling Cloud Accounting Software to small and medium-sized business (SMB) clients.
The Person:
The ideal candidate will possess a robust network of relationships within the SMB space. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential, along with strong organizational abilities. A genuine interest in sales and business development, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, is crucial. Specifically, you will be expected to:
- Develop sales and build a pipeline while onboarding new customers and achieving agreed-upon targets.
- Actively seek out new business opportunities, possessing a 'hunter' mentality to 'open doors' and create new connections.
- Utilize your existing network as a resource for acquiring new business and onboarding additional customers.
Responsibilities:
- Cultivate relationships with existing clients who may not be utilizing the full range of our client's services.
- You will have significant experience in selling Cloud Accounting Software to the SMB market.
- Experience in consultative sales within a service-based organization is necessary.
- Maintain a professional approach in all aspects of the role, including handovers and ongoing communication with the Professional Services team.
- Develop a qualified pipeline of potential new business.
- A minimum of 3 years of sales experience in a similar environment is required.
Essential Skills:
- Proven track record in client-facing solution selling in the SMB sector.
- Strong skills in new business development and relationship building.
- Ability to effectively communicate and engage with senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Capable of working independently and driven to succeed.
- In-depth knowledge of current IT products, trends, and smart technologies.
Experience:
- Experience in the SMB space across sectors such as distribution, professional services, charity, and non-profit organizations.
- Demonstrable skills and experience in Cloud Accounting solution sales- SMB
Cloud Accounting Software Pegasus Opera 3,Iplicit or Cloud Accounting Software.
- Proven history of consistently meeting targets over several years.
- A hunter mentality, comfortable with bringing in new business.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- High level of energy, drive, enthusiasm, initiative, and commitment.
- Experience in selling complex technology solutions.
- Able to work independently and motivated to achieve success.
Compensation:
- Up to £50,000 basic salary with £100,000 OTE - uncapped commission.
