We are recruiting for a Technical Product Engineer. Our client is a market leader in the fast-growing vehicle telematics market sector. Based in Birmingham and other UK locations but with a global marketplace they are well placed to take advantage of current market opportunities. Increased fuel costs, reduction in operating costs and numerous employment laws such as Duty of Care are all driving increased interest in their products and services. Due to this growth, there is now an opening for a Technical Lead to join their established Product Engineering team.
Main Responsibilities of the role:
Assist in customer onboarding of our software solutions including workshops, technical specifications, documentation, and training.
Ongoing collaboration with customers & internal team members to ensure that customer solutions are performing to their full potential.
Act as 3rd line support for our software solutions
Supporting other internal teams with solutions including training on new features
Prioritise issues from both internal and external customers and manage these through to resolution with the relevant internal teams.
Requirements:
• Formal qualifications in Computer Science or equivalent (or equivalent related work experience)
• Deep understanding of API interfaces (REST/SOAP), SFTP solutions and configuration of software solutions to meet customer requirements.
• Previous experience in working with customers to map requirements to software solutions and highlighting gaps and opportunities for improvements with engineering.
• Highly organised and able to plan effectively.
• Enthusiastic, self-starter with a willingness to learn new systems in a fast-moving environment.
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of Jira software package
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Familiarity with Excel and data analysis.
Nice to have experience:
• Knowledge of the telematics & optimisation solutions
• Knowledge of the logistics and transportation sector
Location: Birmingham
Type of role: Permanent
Salary: £35,000 to £45,000, dependent on Experience
