Senior Network Engineer, financial services. Remote
Network Engineer required for 6 months+ contract. We are recruiting for a Senior Network Engineer (a subject matter expert in Routing & Switching and with recent commercial experience of Cisco ACI) for a global financial services organisation who are in the process of an exciting and interesting digital transformation. You will play a pivotal role in the network services team which takes overall responsibility for designing and building core solutions along with the necessary operational BAU support needed to support and operate them. You will work collaboratively with the infrastructure technical architect and other engineering teams to ensure that the network achieves the desired levels of security, availability and performance. You will also contribute to the definition and planning of the network and infrastructure programme of work, ensuring the scope and requirements of key projects are clear and achievable.
Key skills:
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Networking with broader technical skills
• “Hand on” current technical skills in Networking
• Experience in leading and overseeing the technical design process
• Best practice engineering and design principles
• Experience of project based Datacentre environment
• Strong Cisco Routing and Switching skills (Cisco 9Ks)
• BGP
• Recent experience of Cisco ACI in a dynamic commercial environment
• Change controls in a high-availability financial services company
• FortiGate/Fortinet Firewalls
Nice to haves:
• Juniper SRX

Type of job: Contract (inside IR35)
Location: Remote/WFH with some travel to the office and clients
Contract rate: £500-550 per day (Inside IR35)
Length of contract: 6-12 months
