Network Engineer with Extreme Network
Briefing:
· Loop prevention/protection and PortFast on access ports (or whatever the equivalent is with Extreme switches)
· QoS configuration and buffers and how the switches deal with congestion
· MTU size in conjunction with Fabric (we currently use Jumbo Frames but the MTU value appears to be different depending on model).
· Fabric configuration and XIQ compatibility
· MLT and LACP for aggregated ports
They plan to update switch firmware/software levels to the recommended versions, which is often the latest but not always. This might help align some of the default/unconfigured settings.
