Migration Infrastructure Architect. Flexible/Remote Working.

We are looking for a Migration Infrastructure Architect with a strong understanding of VMware infrastructure including vSphere, NSX and Virtual Hardware as well as cloud networking security concepts, such as IP subnets, security groups, NACLs, routing, firewalls.
This role is for the Consultancy Division of our IT Services client. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive experience of Public Cloud and Datacentre Migration strategies, and project delivery leadership. The role will be within the Discovery and Migration team that is experiencing significant growth across all sectors.

You will be responsible for leading initiatives into new and existing customers, to articulate their capabilities and to lead Discovery and Migration campaigns for customers working up to the CxO level. The role will also involve staying at the forefront of new technologies and new features to maintain industry leading integration with these processes future-proofing solutions.

Key skills should include
•Proven business and application/service consulting expertise
oSubject-matter expertise in Migration and Discovery tools and techniques,
oBusiness –related information identification and analysis
•Experience of moving workloads to Public / Private Clouds, within Datacentres’ and the relevant tools and utilities associated such projects.
•Ability to engage across a range of internal and external stakeholders
oAn open communication capability with various levels of customer stakeholder to facilitate advocacy and easily build a sense of capability and trust

Role Responsibility
•Serve in a role of technical leadership for Discovery and Migration technologies and technically input to the design and implementation of advanced Cloud solutions to enable effective migration.
•Work closely with customers to ensure you understand their discovery and migration requirements and implement solutions best suited to deliver these requirements including portability, automation, migration and public cloud technologies
•Develop Blueprints and Workflows within the Orchestration engine to continually improve processes
•Responsible for the quality of all technical deliverables produced for the Discovery and Migration technology area
•Lead customer discussions around technical adoption and customer strategy
•Attend and present at customer workshops and meetings
•Provide technical support as requested, for internal and external customers

The Ideal Candidate
•5+ years of Hand- on Design/Delivery related work around Discovery and Migration Solutions
•Implementation experience using Private and Public Cloud principles
•Strong understanding of core VMware infrastructure including vSphere, NSX and Virtual Hardware
•An understanding of cloud networking security concepts, such as IP subnets, security groups, NACLs, routing, firewalls.
•Knowledge of scripting/automation skills
•Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field - or very significant experience required
