IT Services Consultant (Energy & Chemical Industry) Barcelona

We are looking for a Barcelona based IT Services Consultant with a strong understanding of OSIsoft PI Asset Framework and PI Vision, for our US based client, a technology consulting company in the Energy and Chemical industries.

Their digital transformation solutions comprise leading software, expert services and best practices, powered by the Cloud, to ensure process operations achieve transformational outcomes, resulting in streamlined business processes and increased profits.

This is a wide ranging role and you will be required to implement solutions for customers to meet business needs, analyse client challenges related to real time data, examine historical databases, and recommend ways to visualize the data. All projects internal or external will require pre and post implementation documentation or diagrams. You will be required to coordinate training sessions for clients and respond to helpdesk tickets. You will define the clients’ business requirements and collaborate with peers to define best in class solutions.

You will be required to work as part of a team and hybrid working is currently available . The successful candidate will have a willingness to travel as and when required mainly on an international basis (with some domestic travel), approximately 10 - 30% of the time.

The focus for this position is Oil and Gas upstream, however candidates with the right skills but with experience in other industries will also be considered.

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

Responsible for:

• implementing, configuring, and troubleshooting of PI Data Archive and PI administration
• implementing, configuring, and troubleshooting of PI interface configuration and administration
• documenting configuration/design as built for delivery to clients
• raising issues to Team Lead as appropriate to address quality/scope/schedule
• completing all assigned tasks on a project
• recommending processes, skills, and other mechanisms to improve policies and procedures
• documenting configuration/design as built for delivery to clients
• raising issues to Team Lead as appropriate to address quality/scope/schedule
• applying system’s knowledge to customer’s process to define, design and develop system automation strategies
• work under minimal supervision
• accountability for the accuracy and reliability of work

Position Requirements:

• strong understanding of PI Data Archive and PI administration.
• strong understanding with PI interface configuration and administration.
• experience with OSIsoft’s PI System and application of their product suite is required with a focus on Asset Framework and PI Vision.
• strong understanding/level of knowledge with OSIsoft PI Asset Framework.
• good organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines within budget and achievement of planned margins.
• develop and maintain good relationships with clients
• flexible with the ability to prioritize and reprioritize due to conflicting demands under supervision
• excellent standard of spoken and written Spanish and English
• a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science / Engineering is preferred.
