Cyber Security/Network Security Engineer. Remote (City of London after Lock Down)
Cyber Security/Network Security Engineer, a Palo Alto SME (Subject Matter Expert) required for a Fortinet to Palo Alto migration.
You will be required to design, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot firewalls, Intrusion Detection, VPN appliances, vulnerability assessment tools, event and log analysis, security change tracking and other network security systems and devices

As a Senior Network Security Engineer, your primary responsibility is to provide design, consulting and implementation and support of security services to the client. In this role most of your time will be in a client facing capacity and this position will partner with members of the designated consulting and engineering teams as well as operate with a high degree of independence.
Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot firewalls, Intrusion Detection, VPN appliances, vulnerability assessment tools, event and log analysis, security change tracking and other network security systems and devices.
- Provide technical leadership for Palo Alto Consulting Services projects.
- Review requests for increased network access and provide risk-analysis.
- Responsibilities include executive and technical-level communications and relationship building to gain credibility/trust of internal and external customers.
- Consult assess or audit, design and interview customers to determine highly technical requirements.
- Convert requirements into actionable scope of work.
- Coordinate proof of concept testing.
- Provide knowledge transfer to the customer.
- Perform analysis of the networking problems as well as provide highest-level crisis management.
- Ensure familiarity with customer network planning, implementation and support processes and procedures.
- Be a customer technical liaison for technical support and development teams.
- Facilitate design reviews for proposed architectures.
- Provide recommendations on viability, implementation strategies and optimal implementation of solutions.
- Demonstrate expert level knowledge of network topologies and conditions. Ensure changes to network topologies are made with minimal down-time.
- Engineer, configure and lead the design, configuration and deployment of Palo Alto firewalls.
- Deliver to current client requirements and generate additional consulting work by understanding the client's need and showing them the justification for new technologies that fit their business.
- Review data monitoring stats and confirm SLAs with customers.
- Provide regular status reports on tasks accomplished, current issues and progress toward goals.
- Apply business development skills to identify potential sales leads and opportunities and communicate discovered opportunities to the regional sales team.
Required Skills:
- Experience designing and deploying network and security services for large organisations.
- Palo Alto SME
- PCNSE Accreditation or similar
- Fortinet experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication plus time management skills.
- Desired Skills and Experience
- BS degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience with IP networking and security devices.
- 2+ years working with firewall and IDS/IPS systems.
- Experience in at least one scripting language
