Business Development Manager, IT Services: Mid-Market

We are recruiting for a motivated and results driven Business Development Salesperson to grow sales in Workplace, Cloud/Data Centre and Security for our client within the Mid-Market Sector – 250 to 500 seats.

Our client is a multi-billion pound European IT Services company with offices in 18 countries, who are in an exciting growth phase. The role is for their UK office, based out of London, and it is a key part of this growth journey. In addition, the appointment of a dynamic CEO in recent months makes it a great time to join the company.

You will be collaborating with business leaders, account managers and technical experts to drive sales into mid-market clients.

The successful candidate needs to be willing to work independently in a demanding and dynamic environment.  Due to the nature of the sales process, candidates will need to have strong relationship building skills, technical aptitude, a proven quota-attainment track-record and a demonstrated ability to close deals.

The role:
The role is focused on generating business via strategic business partnerships, as well as further developing business within our client’s existing mid-market clients and through the successful candidates' own networking activities. The successful candidate will be selling our clients range of products and services within the Workplace, Infrastructure and Cybersecurity space.

The Person
The ideal candidate must demonstrate a network of mid-market client relationships. They will have strong communication & relationship-building skills and be well organised. You are interested in sales & business development and enjoy a fast-paced working environment. Specifically:
• You will be comfortable searching for new business and have a ‘hunter’ mentality, able to ‘open doors to create new business.
• Use your existing network as a source of new business
• You will also be able to develop relationships with existing clients who are not currently using the full range of our client’s services.
• You will have significant experience with a range of Vendors across Infrastructure, Workplace and Cybersecurity.
• Experience in consultative sales within a service-based organization
• You will develop a qualified pipeline of potential new business.
• You will have a minimum 3 years’ sales experience with a range of Vendors
• You will report to the Sales Director.

Duties:
• Ensure face-to-face contact with clients, partners, and prospects.
• Maximise all opportunities for account development within the identified clients.
• Maximise all cross-selling opportunities with clients, partners, suppliers etc.
• Liaison on a frequent basis with management and sales administration.

Essential skills:
• Proven track record in client facing solution selling, ideally selling a range of Vendor digital solutions to mid-market clients.
• Strong new business and relationship building skills.
• Experience and evidence of earning a minimum of a £300k+ Gross profit target pa
• Demonstrate the skill set, experience and required gravitas to liaise with senior leadership and key stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and driven to succeed.
• Experience with selling both Cloud and on-premises solutions (AWS experience would be an advantage)
• In-depth knowledge of current IT products, trends, and smart technologies.
Experience
• Experience with selling IT Services, both Cloud and on-premises solutions (AWS experience would be an advantage), Datacentre, Workplace, Cyber Security
• Hunter mentality and comfortable bringing in new business
• Good communication and presentation skills and able to adapt these depending on the client.
• High level of energy, drive, enthusiasm, initiative, and commitment.
• Experience of how to sell complex technology solutions
• Experience working with Data and managing a CRM
• Able to work on your own and be driven to succeed.

£120,000 realistic earnings in the first year for successful candidates. High Comms package: no threshold for commission earnings and it is uncapped.
