Business Development Manager - ERP

We are recruiting for a motivated and results driven Business Development Salesperson to grow sales in Cloud Accounting – Solution Sales (ERP) for our client.

Our client is a long established (40+years) UK company. It is considered to be one of the foremost resellers of business software and network services in the UK. They deliver flexible technology-based services to their SME customers. Their services include Cloud Solutions, Business Software, Cybersecurity, Software Development and Telecommunications.

They have won awards for customer service. In addition they have very strong financials and staff and customer retention is excellent, with very low attrition.

The successful candidate should be able to work independently in a demanding and dynamic environment.  They will also be comfortable collaborating with colleagues. Due to the nature of the sales process, candidates will need to have strong relationship building skills, technical aptitude, a proven quota-attainment track-record and a demonstrated ability to close deals.

The role will report to the Commercial Director. It is a hybrid role with at least one day a week in the Bedfordshire offices.

The role:
The role is focused on generating new business for our client, using our clients connections and through the successful candidates' own networking activities. The successful candidate will be selling our clients bespoke software accounting services.

The Person
The ideal candidate must demonstrate a network of relationships in the ERP/Cloud Software accounting space. You will have strong communication & relationship-building skills and be well organised. You are interested in sales & business development and enjoy a fast-paced working environment. Specifically:

Sales development and pipeline building, onboarding net new customers, hit agreed targets,
• You will be comfortable searching for new business and have a ‘hunter’ mentality, able to ‘open doors to create new business.
• Use your existing network as a source of new business and onboarding net new customers
• You will also be able to develop relationships with existing clients who are not currently using the full range of our client’s services.
• You will have significant experience selling ERP services or strong Software sales experience.
• Experience in consultative sales within a service-based organization
• You will have a professional approach to all aspects of the role, including handover to and ongoing liaison with the Professional Service team
• You will develop a qualified pipeline of potential new business.
• You will have a minimum 3 years’ sales experience in a similar environment.

Essential skills:
• Proven track record in client facing solution selling in ERP sales
• Strong new business and relationship building skills.
• Demonstrate the skill set, experience and required gravitas to liaise with senior leadership and key stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and driven to succeed.
• In-depth knowledge of current IT products, trends, and smart technologies.
Experience
• Experience in ERP/Cloud Software sales.
• Proven track record of consistently hitting targets over several years
• Hunter mentality and comfortable bringing in new business
• Good communication and presentation skills
• High level of energy, drive, enthusiasm, initiative, and commitment.
• Experience of how to sell complex software accounting solutions
• Able to work on your own and be driven to succeed.
