Project Manager - Managing a project for a large public sector customer.
Project Manager required for UK based technology consultancy. Key areas: Software and
Hardware asset management. Agile and Prince2 practices: Knowledge of agile frameworks, practices, and methodologies.
This is a high-profile role which will involve managing a project for a large public sector customer to implement a software and hardware asset management service. This project is one of a number of contracts the customer is implementing as part of a larger IT programme of works. A key aspect of this role is to accurately and concisely communicate the state of the programme to stakeholders, including project delivery scope, delivery dates and status.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years project management experience, with proven experience of delivering projects on time and on budget. This will be complemented with a strong background in the software asset management industry working with the service management team, their technical partner and the customer.
•Ensuring the deliverables for each phase are delivered and approved on time,
•Hold regular internal and external project calls
•Managing the project plan and risk register.
•Deliver a number of documents for each project phase
•Ensuring work is scoped and approved
•Scheduling the technical resource
•Ensuring work is delivered on time,
•Managing and mitigating any delays
Essential Skills and Experience:
Collaborative working: a deep understanding of how to support and develop successful cross-functional teams. You have demonstrable experience of helping teams maintain a delivery focus, as well as supporting their continuous improvement, through reflection, feedback loops, motivation. Experience with working with third parties.
Agile and Prince2 practices: Knowledge of agile frameworks, practices, and methodologies.
You know how to communicate plans and their underlying assumptions to a wide range of stakeholders, from technical to senior management.
Risk management: You can identify and manage delivery risks consistently and appropriately. You can provide clear and objective updates on their status and know when to escalate. You are experienced with helping a team in solving issues and unblocking progress.
Outcome oriented: You are experienced in respectfully challenging the status quo wherever it is impacting performance. You can work with and influence teams in all areas of business to create positive, collaborative changes.
Industry: A bonus would be experience of working with a public sector organisation with a software assest management background.
Practical experience with Microsoft Teams for project collaboration and artefact sharing.
Type of Job: 3 months contract initially then will be permanent
Salary: £50-60k + benefits
